Sportshall Athletics Competition

North Oxfordshire School Sports Partnership Sportshall Athletics Competition
18th January 2018

Over 100 Year 5 and 6 pupils from Banbury Academy’s family of primary schools enjoyed a morning of athletics on Thursday 18th February.

Our Dashwood pupils took part in a range of athletic events which were run by Banbury Academy Young Leaders.

The competition was aimed at children in Years 5 and 6 with the focus on the Sports Value of Passion.

There were many outstanding individual performances throughout the morning but what was most pleasing, was the teamwork support that all pupils displayed. They even secured a team first place in the obstacle relay.

The focus value for this festival was ‘passion’ and this was in abundance! A boy and a girl from each team was selected and presented with a special certificate to recognise their positive attitude and enthusiasm throughout the festival. Muhammed and Leah from Year 6 were awarded the Passion certificate because of the spectacular effort they gave throughout the competition. From Year 5, Jan and Malaeka were awarded the certificate for their enjoyment of every opportunity.

Well done to the team: Rhianydd, Malaeka, Tanya, Ellie, Billy, Fabian and Jan (Year 5); Leah, Jayme, Malaika, Caley, Jake, Liam, Kai and Muhammed (Year 6).
