Week 1 Welcome back to Dashwood – Spirit of Adventure
  • Ensure all children feel that they are part of the Dashwood community.
  • Set clear expectations for behaviour and learning.
  • Introduce condition for learning for the term.
Attendance assembly
  • To recognise and celebrate the commitment and dedication to the children who attend school every day.
Singing assembly
  • To appreciate music from around the world.
  • For children to feel good about themselves and develop confidence with performance.
 
Week 2 Star of the week
  • Celebrate individual successes.
St George’s Day  
  • Children will be aware of religious celebrations and the importance of these to individuals
Shakespeare Day
  • To celebrate the life of heroes from the past and appreciate the influence they have had on life today.

  • To appreciate music from around the world.
  • For children to feel good about themselves and develop confidence with performance.

Europe Day
  • Celebrating languages from Europe including cultures.
  • Ensure that children treat everybody with respect and be tolerant of difference.

  • Celebrate individual successes.
World Red Cross Day
  • Show consideration for events/ issues happening around the world.
  • Ensure that children are aware that not everyone is as fortunate as they are and that it’s important to help these individuals when possible.
True Bravery
  • Ensure that children understand that we can admit we need help and its fine to get things wrong when we try new things with resilience.

  • Ensure that children understand that being brave can be in a variety of forms in different situations.
