Sport Relief

This year, to mark Sport Relief 2016, our 15 Year 5 Junior Leaders took charge of planning, organising and leading a carousel of multi-skills activities.

A fun-filled sporty afternoon was had by all. The Junior Leaders did the school proud showing team work, passion and effective leadership.

Pupils from across the school brought in loose-change to add to our giant football spot and donate to Sport Relief.
The leaders had a meeting and planned 8 activities based around the core skills of agility, balance and co-ordination that they had learnt during their NOSSP Leadership Academy training sessions. They sourced the equipment needed for each station and set this up ready for Years 2-6 to come out and enjoy an afternoon of physical activity and fun.

The afternoon went brilliantly, with all leaders delivering quick and clear instructions and supporting participants to challenge themselves.

Dione, a Junior Leader was so enthusiastic and could be heard cheering participants on and willing them all to do well.

Abbi, leading the ‘bean bag balance’ showed superb leadership skills giving clear instructions and modelling the activity – skills she had learned during her training. The leaders all found ways to challenge their peers on the different activities by changing the equipment and difficulty level of the task.
