Creative art in Term 2
Christmas cards for care homes
Year 3 have been developing our links with local care homes this term. They created a three-colour overlay print with paints. After creating their own printing block with a polystyrene sheet, the children first printed the snowman. The second overlay was the scarf and hat. The final overlay was the carrot nose and the coal buttons. These were then made into professional looking Christmas cards. The children wrote their cards to the residents of The Ridings Care Home and Bromford Care Home to strengthen our links with people in our local community and let them know that we are thinking of them at this festive time. Well done Year 3.
Pop Art printing
Year three pupils have been looking at Andy Warhol and his famous repeated motif art. They have used a range of printing blocks to create their own repeated motif patterns. We think they look really bright and colourful which was one of the key features of the Pop Art style.
Year 3 have been studying pointillism this term. This is a technique where small dots of colours are used to create a full image. They used a photograph of themselves to draw an outline of their portrait. Once this had been completed, The children dotted each part of their portrait. We are delighted with the results and can really see the portrait likenesses. Well done Year 3.
