Children’s Mental Health Week

This week (1st – 7th February 2021) pupils at Dashwood immersed themselves in learning activities for Children’s Mental Health Week with the theme of ‘Express Yourself’ which focused on exploring the different ways we can express ourselves, and the creative ways that they can share their feelings, their thoughts and their ideas.

Across the school, pupils took part in PSHE lessons around the ‘Express Yourself’ theme: both online and in-school learning. At this time, more than ever, we recognise that it is essential to spend time together with our pupils learning about, and exploring, Mental Health.

On the Monday, 1st, pupils logged on to a Place2Be assembly which explored how different people, from all walks of life, express themselves: from art to dance, martial arts to baking – self-expression comes in many different forms!

On Friday, there will be an ‘Express Yourself’ – wear your SCARF day – where pupils, and staff, are encouraged to wear a scarf that expresses who they are. Pupils learning remotely are also encouraged to upload a photo to Seesaw/Tapestry of them wearing their SCARF that expresses who they are.
