Christmas Fun and Fayres!

We have had so many lovely events and activities taking place over the last few of weeks of term 2. Here’s a round-up of some happy faces and festive fun!

PTFA Mini Christmas Fayres
The PTFA hosted three mini Christmas Fayres after school in the playground with a craft stall and lots of games to play. The atmosphere at these Christmas events was absolutely buzzing! It was great to see so many happy faces joining us in the festivities. The tombola drew a huge crowd and all the events were a huge success. Thank you to parents, carers and pupils for their support and to the staff and PTA members for all of their help.

Baubles for Banbury Library
The children had great fun designing and colouring baubles for Banbury Library’s Christmas tree display boards.

The Dashwood trees are among the many colourful Christmas trees, decorated with over 500 baubles, created by local schools that are exhibited at the library in Marlborough Road. The trees will be on display until 8th January.  https://www.oxfordshire.gov.uk/residents/leisure-and-culture/libraries

Gift Boxes
Pupils filled over 30 boxes with gifts for children who would otherwise not have a present to open on Christmas Day. The boxes were donated to the Foundation for Social Change and Inclusion.

Mrs Rogers said: ‘’The boxes filled with presents allow children who would otherwise not have gifts to feel special on Christmas Day. It’s also a chance for the children at our school to give back and to be a ‘hero’ to those around them. It’s important for our Dashwood students to understand the importance of helping others and giving back as it shows respect for others.’’

Christmas Cards for Care Homes
Year 3 children created Christmas cards of snowmen, using a three-colour overlay print with paints, and delivered their finished cards to the residents of The Ridings Care Home and Bromford Care Home to let them know that we were thinking of them at this festive time.

Christmas Lunch
We enjoyed our Christmas lunch. The pupils chatted and laughed as they pulled their Christmas crackers.

Santa Fun Run
Thank you to all our pupils in Years 2 – 6 that supported the Santa Fun Run wearing Santa hats bought in aid of Katharine House Hospice. Pupils thoroughly enjoyed running their Daily Mile to support this fantastic cause!
