The whole school took part in a leaf sketching day where the children revisited prior sketching skills and practised new techniques with graded pencils before sketching a variety of leaves.

We were delighted with the careful observations skills, the clear shapes and outlines, the marking of the veins as well as some of the different sketching techniques involved. These included the scumbling, stippling, hatching and cross-hatching techniques. The display looks fabulous and it really showcases the progression of drawing skills across the entire school.
