Term 5

We will be publishing what we are learning during each term throughout the year. Watch this space to see what is happening in Term 5 in and out of the classroom and for useful information for Hazel and Holly classes.

Well done Holly and Hazel

Year 1 have shown off their fabulous writing skills the last two weeks by producing their very own warning story, using our story map to help them. We have been blown away by the wonderful language they have used as well as applying their phonics knowledge to their writing.

In addition to this, Year 1 have immersed themselves in collecting lots of natural resources during Forest School time to make bug hotels and bird feeders as part of their looking after our local environment and animals topic.

Year 1, had a great start to Term 5 and fully embraced their topics for the term. In science, they learned about different types of animals and what categories they fit into. The children also thoroughly enjoyed exploring Forest School and going on a minibeast hunt.

Additionally, we read the story of Little Red Riding Hood and the children have relished several activities such as decorating biscuits to take to Grandma and creating a basket to carry them in.
