Year 6 children sing for residents at The Ridings
The festive season is well and truly underway here at Dashwood. Children from Year 6 had a tuneful afternoon where they visited residents at The Ridings care home and sang a selection of carols for them. They showed bravery and compassion and were amazing role models from Dashwood. They even received a gift for their efforts! Well done to all pupils and staff involved!
Oak Class show bravery to face new challenges at Rock UK
Year 6 Oak Class pupils enjoyed a fantastic residential trip to Rock UK, Irthlingborough!
Full of challenges that promoted team building, resilience and determination, pupils tackled the high ropes assault course, archery, canoeing and the infamous King Swing! Each activity gave our pupils the opportunity to develop their team work skills with particular focus on resilience and the courage to give new opportunities a go! We have been so impressed by the bravery of so many of the pupils to face the challenges and try new activities, even if they are daunting!
Each day has been fun-packed! We even managed a walk to Stanwick Lakes to visit the park which was thoroughly enjoyed by all. Monday movie night was also very popular and gave us all a chance to recharge our batteries ready for more adventures!
Chestnut class demonstrate resilience at Rock UK
Chestnut class had a fantastic first day at Rock UK! Lots of children faced their fears of heights today on the zip wire and high ropes and showed great skill on the archery range. The day ended with a lovely pasta meal and film.
So much excitement throughout the day! They have already demonstrated resilience and bravery!
Day two was in full swing here at Rock UK, pun intended, as Chestnut class enjoyed the infamous King Swing plus fun in the adventure pits!

What another fantastic day we have had at Rock UK! Well done to all of Chestnut class for achieving many goals today and facing some fears.
